The City Magistrate’s court had ruled in July that the structure stood on government land, and the district court upheld that finding on September 2. Officials say the demolition implemented the court-backed process rather than a political decision.
Samajwadi Party MP Iqra Hasan said she was prevented from travelling to Saharanpur, adding a political dimension to the case. That claim is part of the broader dispute and should be distinguished from the court’s land finding. Any further appeal could shape the next phase of the matter.
