Apple Unveils HomeView Smart Display With Siri AI in Major Smart-Home Push

Apple has unveiled HomeView, a new smart display designed to bring home automation, entertainment and communication together in one device. The launch marks the company’s renewed effort to strengthen its presence in the connected-home market, where Amazon and Google already offer competing products.

Featuring a 7-inch display and an upgraded Siri AI assistant, HomeView is designed to serve as a central hub for everyday household activities.

Apple HomeView: Key Features

HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display attached to a speaker base. It can sit on a tabletop or be mounted on a wall, making it suitable for kitchens, living rooms and entryways.

The device supports FaceTime calls, music playback, photo displays and access to everyday information. Users can also check calendars, view reminders and interact with compatible smart-home devices.

Siri AI Brings Personalised Assistance

A major feature is the upgraded Siri AI assistant, which Apple says offers more natural conversations and broader knowledge. When paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri can also use relevant personal context to provide more tailored assistance.

Users can ask questions, manage everyday tasks and control connected devices through voice commands, reducing the need to reach for their phones.

Recognises Up to Six Household Members

HomeView can recognise up to six people and provide each with a personalised screen. Family members can access their own supported apps and information, including messages, calendar entries and reminders.

Apple says personal information remains private while shared content, such as family photo albums and music, can be enjoyed by everyone in the household.

Controls Smart-Home Devices

The display is designed to act as a central control point for compatible smart-home products. Users can use it to manage lighting, locks, thermostats and security cameras.

Apple has also announced connected-home accessories developed with partners LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. These additions are intended to make it easier for users to manage different household functions through Apple’s ecosystem.

Price and Availability

Apple announced HomeView on October 13, 2026. In the United States, the device is priced at $299, with pre-orders opening ahead of its scheduled November 13 availability.

In India, reports list the price at ₹39,900, with pre-orders beginning on October 13 and sales scheduled to start on November 13. The device is available in silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey, with a separate wall-mounted option.

Apple Takes on Amazon and Google

The launch places Apple in more direct competition with Amazon’s Echo Show devices and Google’s Nest Hub products. Both rivals already offer smart displays that combine voice assistance, entertainment and connected-home controls.

Apple is betting that its integration of Siri AI, personalisation and privacy protections will appeal to customers who already use iPhones and other Apple devices. Its success will depend on the usefulness of the updated assistant, compatibility with connected products and how consumers respond to its pricing.

HomeView represents a significant addition to Apple’s smart-home strategy, bringing several household functions into a single screen-based device.
