Adilabad IT Tower Ready for Inauguration: New IT Hub Expected to Create Jobs for Local Youth

Adilabad is set to witness a significant expansion in its technology sector with the newly completed Adilabad IT Tower preparing for inauguration. The facility is expected to provide a platform for IT companies to establish operations in the district and create employment opportunities for local engineering graduates and skilled youth.

Recent reports indicate that the IT Tower has been completed and is likely to be launched shortly. Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu also informed the Assembly on September 11, 2026, that the Adilabad IT Tower would be launched soon.

The Adilabad IT Tower has been developed with the objective of taking the IT industry beyond Hyderabad and creating technology-based employment opportunities in Tier-II locations. Reports put the project cost at around ₹54–58 crore, with the facility designed to accommodate hundreds of employees per shift.

According to recent reports, the building has multiple floors and modern facilities required for IT companies, including workspaces, meeting areas, dining and parking facilities. The facility has the potential to support employment for around 2,000 people, depending on company occupancy and operations.

The tower is located near Battisavargaon on the outskirts of Adilabad, around 300 km from Hyderabad. Its location is expected to make it easier for local graduates to pursue careers in the technology sector without having to immediately move to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune or other major IT cities.

The arrival of a dedicated IT facility could also encourage more companies to consider Adilabad for business operations. Reports indicate that companies have already shown interest in occupying space in the tower, while officials are working to attract additional IT firms.

For local youngsters, the development could create opportunities not only in software and IT services but also in areas such as business support, administration, facility management and other technology-linked services.

The broader objective is to decentralise Telangana’s IT growth. Instead of concentrating technology companies and employment opportunities mainly in Hyderabad, IT infrastructure in districts such as Adilabad can potentially help develop local talent and business ecosystems.

While the completed building represents an important infrastructure milestone, the number of jobs ultimately created will depend on the companies that occupy the facility, their workforce requirements and the pace at which operations begin. This distinction is important because IT towers in several Telangana districts have faced questions over occupancy and job creation. In the Assembly, the government recently discussed utilisation of district IT towers and said the Adilabad facility would be launched shortly. For Adilabad youth, the next major step will therefore be the arrival of companies and the creation of actual employment opportunities inside the facility.

The IT Tower could provide a new avenue for engineering graduates, software professionals and other skilled workers in Adilabad and neighbouring areas. It may also reduce the need for some young professionals to relocate to larger cities for entry-level technology jobs.

The development comes as part of the wider effort to expand technology infrastructure across Telangana’s Tier-II cities. The Adilabad facility is now ready, with its upcoming inauguration expected to mark a new phase for the district’s IT sector.
