Nineteen-year-old Vishesh Sharma has won his first professional golf title at the Telangana Golconda Masters in Hyderabad, finishing the DP World PGTI event at 21-under 259. Playing at the Hyderabad Golf Association, Sharma held off Noida golfer Amardeep Malik by one stroke to claim the one-crore-rupee tournament.
Sharma began the final round with a four-shot lead but had to work hard to keep it. His one-under 69 included seven birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey. After the double bogey at the 13th, he responded with birdies at the 14th and 15th before an important long putt on the 18th sealed the title.
The win came in his 33rd DP World PGTI start and only his second season as a professional. Rounds of 60, 66, 64 and 69 underlined the consistency of his week, with the opening 60 matching the course record at the time.
Malik closed with a 66 to finish at 20-under 260. Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma produced a 10-under 60 to share third at 19-under with Honey Baisoya. The 15-lakh-rupee winner’s cheque lifted Vishesh Sharma from 25th to 14th in the 2026 Order of Merit and earned him a place in the DP World India Championship.
The venue made the breakthrough especially meaningful. Sharma watched a PGTI event at the same course as a junior in 2021; five years later, he left it as champion.
