Yash’s Toxic Builds Strong Box Office Buzz Before Release, Advance Bookings Near ₹20 Crore

Yash is preparing for a major return to the big screen with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, and the film is already making noise at the box office even before its theatrical release. The Geetu Mohandas directorial is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on August 26, 2026, with advance ticket sales showing strong audience interest.

Advance Bookings Set the Tone

The early booking numbers have given Toxic a promising start. According to current box-office tracking, the film has sold around 2.6 lakh tickets, while advance revenue including blocked seats has moved close to the ₹20-crore mark. Another tracking update puts the advance gross at around ₹19.44 crore with blocked seats included.

The figures are particularly notable because the film still has several days to go before it reaches theatres.

Karnataka Leads the Pre-Release Rush

Karnataka has emerged as the strongest market for the film so far, with the Kannada version accounting for the largest share of advance sales. The Hindi version is also contributing significantly, while bookings are underway across other language versions.

The strong response in Karnataka is hardly surprising given Yash’s massive popularity in the region. However, the interest outside the Kannada market also highlights the star’s growing pan-India reach following the success of the KGF franchise.

Yash Returns After Four Years

Toxic carries additional expectations because it marks Yash’s return to the big screen after his last major theatrical appearance in KGF: Chapter 2 in 2022. The new film presents him in an action-oriented role and brings together a prominent ensemble that includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani and Tara Sutaria.

The combination of Yash’s established fan base, a large-scale production and a multi-language release has helped create anticipation well ahead of opening day.

A Film Aimed at Adult Audiences

Another talking point surrounding Toxic is its certification. The film has received an A certificate in India, signalling that it is intended for adult audiences. The certification has added another layer of curiosity around the movie’s mature action-thriller presentation.

Can Toxic Turn Pre-Release Buzz Into a Big Opening?

With advance sales already showing considerable momentum, expectations around Toxic‘s opening day are rising. Current estimates suggest the film is heading toward a strong double-digit opening, although advance-booking figures should not be treated as final box-office collections.

The real test will begin once the film opens on August 26. For now, however, Toxic has achieved one important milestone: it has generated substantial theatrical interest before audiences have even seen the full film.
