A wedding in Kerala has become an internet talking point for a reason that goes far beyond the bride and groom. The ceremony brought together twin brothers, twin sisters, twin priests and twin altar boys, creating an unusually symmetrical celebration that quickly attracted attention online.
The wedding was held at the Changanassery Metropolitan Church, where twin brothers Akhil K. Thomas and Nikhil K. Thomas married twin sisters Magi Mary Thomas and Maria Mary Thomas.
A Wedding Planned Around Twins
For the brides, the unusual setting was not simply a coincidence. According to reports, Magi and Maria had dreamed since childhood of having a wedding surrounded by other twins.
When their own wedding plans began, they looked for twin priests who could officiate the ceremony. Their search eventually led them to Father Anto Pezhumkattil and Father Ajo Pezhumkattil, twin brothers serving as priests in the Kanjirappally Diocese.
The idea did not stop there.
Twin brothers Jeron James and Johon James also participated as altar servers, adding another pair of twins to the already extraordinary gathering.
When the Family Dream Became Reality
What makes the story particularly unusual is how deliberately the “twin theme” came together.
Instead of simply having two sets of twins at the altar, the families managed to create a ceremony in which several important roles were occupied by twins. The result was a wedding that looked almost like a carefully arranged scene from a film.

Instead, the appeal came from something much simpler: four newlyweds, twin priests and twin altar servers all appearing together at one wedding.
Interestingly, Kerala has seen a similar twin-themed wedding before. In 2015, twin brothers married twin sisters in another ceremony in the state that also involved twin priests and twin children participating in the celebration.
The latest wedding, however, has once again brought the unusual phenomenon into the spotlight.
For the families involved, it was the fulfilment of a childhood dream. For the internet, it became something else entirely one of the most unusual wedding stories to emerge from India this year.
