PM Modi Meets Schoolmate Amid ₹2,810 Sq Metre Property Dispute

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met his former schoolmate Asgarali Vohra, who approached him over a decades-old property dispute in Maharashtra and sought a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.

Vohra, an 81-year-old resident of Mira Road, studied with PM Modi at B.N. School in Vadnagar, Gujarat. According to reports, he met the Prime Minister on September 8 and requested his intervention in the long-running dispute.

The dispute concerns around 2,810 square metres of land in Navghar, Bhayander East. Vohra says he purchased the property through a registered agreement in 1989 and has alleged that the land was encroached upon in 2011.

He has alleged that forged documents were used in connection with the property and that the land was subsequently divided into two portions. The allegations involve Swayam Builders and Seven Eleven Constructions. These are allegations made by Vohra, and the matter remains subject to legal proceedings.

After approaching local authorities over the years, Vohra decided to seek help from his former schoolmate, PM Modi. He has requested a CBI investigation, saying he wants an impartial examination of the allegations surrounding the disputed property.

An FIR was reportedly registered in 2015, while the dispute continues before the court. Following Vohra’s meeting with PM Modi, the local municipal administration has taken note of the matter. A hearing has been scheduled for September 16, with representatives of the concerned construction companies directed to appear.

The meeting has attracted attention because of the unusual personal connection between the complainant and the Prime Minister. Vohra and Modi were schoolmates in Vadnagar decades ago, and Vohra has now turned to his former classmate while pursuing a legal battle over his property.

The outcome of the dispute will depend on the ongoing legal and administrative process. The proposed hearing and any further investigation could provide more clarity on the competing claims surrounding the land.
