Bethlehem Kudumba Unit Continues Strong Box Office Run, Crosses ₹150 Cr India Net

The Malayalam romantic comedy-drama Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, continues its impressive theatrical journey more than three weeks after its release. Trade reports on Day 27 show the film maintaining steady collections while being tracked alongside Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game.

Latest Box Office Figures (Day 27)

India Net: ₹151.15 crore

India Gross: ₹176.50 crore

Overseas Gross: ₹135.90 crore

Worldwide Gross: ≈ ₹312.40 – 314 crore

On its 27th day, the film collected around ₹1.25 crore net in India (with a modest drop from the previous day) and added approximately ₹40 lakh from overseas markets. The Malayalam version remains the primary contributor, while the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions continue to add smaller amounts.

The film has officially crossed the ₹150-crore India net mark, a significant milestone for a Malayalam release. It has also established itself as one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time, surpassing previous benchmarks set by titles such as Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra and L2: Empuraan in worldwide collections.

Performance Highlights

Released on August 21, 2026 (during the Onam season), Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has shown exceptional holding power. It has rarely dropped below the ₹1-crore daily mark even in its fourth week and has performed strongly both in Kerala and overseas markets (particularly the UK, where it ranks among the top South Indian films).

Directed by Girish AD and produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran (under Fahadh Faasil and Friends, Bhavana Studios and Working Class Hero), the film blends romance, humour and family drama. Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s chemistry, along with strong word-of-mouth, has driven its sustained run.

Comparison with I’m Game

Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, released later, is also continuing its theatrical run. While Bethlehem Kudumba Unit enjoys a substantial lead with over ₹150 crore India net and ₹300+ crore worldwide, I’m Game is still building its total in its early weeks. Trade trackers continue to monitor both films as they occupy screens in the Malayalam market.
