An 81-year-old man who says he studied with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received relief in a long-running land dispute in Maharashtra, days after meeting the Prime Minister and seeking intervention in the matter.
Asgarali Vohra, a resident of Mira Road, said he and PM Modi studied together at BN School in Vadnagar, Gujarat. Vohra met Modi on September 8 and submitted a request seeking intervention and a CBI probe into the property dispute.
The dispute concerns approximately 2,810 square metres of land in Navghar, Bhayander East, which Vohra said he purchased through a registered agreement in 1989. He alleged that the property was taken over in 2011 and subsequently became linked to two construction entities. One of those companies, Seven Eleven Constructions, has been linked in reports to BJP MLA Narendra Mehta. These are allegations made by Vohra, and the underlying dispute has involved legal and administrative proceedings.
Following Vohra’s meeting with the Prime Minister, a development took place in the dispute. Reports said Seven Eleven Constructions surrendered the construction permission for the disputed plot, while Narendra Mehta said he would relinquish possession and withdraw a police complaint against Vohra.

The development came after years of complaints and legal proceedings surrounding the property. Vohra had earlier approached police, revenue authorities and the municipal administration over his claims. A police case connected with alleged document forgery was registered in 2015, while the broader property dispute remains subject to legal and administrative processes.
The timing of the development, shortly after Vohra met PM Modi, has drawn significant public attention. However, reports describe the sequence of events rather than establishing that the Prime Minister personally ordered the land to be returned. The parties involved have provided different accounts of the long-running dispute.
The case has now become a widely discussed Mira-Bhayandar land dispute, with attention focused on the property documents, construction permissions, court proceedings and the actions taken by the parties involved.
