Hyderabad Metro–RTC Common Pass Launched: Daily ₹400, Monthly ₹8,500

Hyderabad Metro and TGSRTC buses under new common pass system with ₹400 daily and ₹8,500 monthly fares

Hyderabad commuters can now use a single common pass for travel on TGSRTC city buses and Hyderabad Metro services. The integrated Metro–RTC common pass was launched in Telangana to make public transport more convenient for daily commuters.

The one-day common pass costs ₹400, including ₹300 for Metro travel and ₹100 for RTC bus services. The 30-day monthly pass is priced at ₹8,500, comprising ₹7,000 for Metro services and ₹1,500 for RTC travel.

The pass can be used on eligible city bus services and Hyderabad Metro trains, with Pushpak services excluded. A refundable ₹100 card deposit is also applicable when purchasing the card for the first time.

The new system is part of Telangana’s efforts to integrate public transport services and simplify daily travel across Hyderabad.

The common pass is designed to allow commuters to switch between Metro trains and eligible TGSRTC city buses without having to purchase separate passes for each mode of transport. The facility covers eligible city bus services within the specified limits, while Pushpak services are excluded.

Passengers purchasing the card for the first time are required to pay a refundable ₹100 card fee. The common pass is being made available through Metro stations, giving regular commuters a single travel option for their Metro and bus journeys.

The initiative was formally launched on Friday by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and other officials.

The government has described the integrated ticketing system as part of efforts to improve public transport connectivity across Hyderabad.

Alongside the common pass, the government has also introduced the MeeTicket digital ticketing platform, allowing commuters to access bus tickets and passes digitally. A weekly RTC bus pass priced at ₹600 has also been introduced through the digital platform.

Officials have indicated that the broader goal is to integrate different forms of public transport. Discussions are also expected around bringing other modes, including auto-rickshaws, onto a common digital platform in the future.

With Metro and RTC services now linked through a common pass, the new system marks a significant step toward an integrated public transport network in Hyderabad.

For commuters who regularly combine bus and Metro journeys, the initiative provides a single-pass option instead of managing separate travel arrangements.
