A New Face in Jailer 2
The trailer of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has introduced audiences to several new faces, but actress Apeksha Porwal has particularly caught attention with a brief action-packed appearance. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel brings back Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian and is scheduled to release on October 15, 2026.
Apeksha Porwal’s Pageant Background
Apeksha is not new to the world of pageants. She was crowned Miss India Delhi 2015 and had earlier won the Miss Teen India International title in 2009. She also participated in the Miss Universe India 2017 competition, where she finished as second runner-up.
She Is a Trained Kathak Performer
Beyond modelling and pageantry, Apeksha has a background in classical dance. She is trained in Kathak, adding another dimension to her performance skills.
Her dance training and experience on stage have contributed to her transition towards acting and performance-driven roles.
From Theatre to the Screen
Apeksha has worked across theatre, television and streaming projects. She appeared in the web series Imperfect and made her screen debut in the 2020 series Undekhi. Her acting training includes studying method acting at the Jeff Goldberg Studio, along with training under actors and teachers including Neeraj Kabi and Atul Mongia.
Her Jailer 2 Appearance
In the Jailer 2 trailer, Apeksha appears in an intense sequence that has sparked curiosity about her role in the film. While the makers have kept several character details under wraps, her action-oriented appearance has already made viewers interested in seeing more of her.
The film features a larger ensemble alongside Rajinikanth, including S. J. Suryah, Vidya Balan and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
What’s Next for Apeksha?
Jailer 2 could give Apeksha Porwal another opportunity to reach a wider audience, particularly through a major Tamil production led by one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars.
With her pageant experience, classical dance training and growing acting career, her appearance in the Rajinikanth-led sequel could mark another interesting step in her journey from the stage and modelling world to mainstream cinema.
