Tollywood is buzzing with the latest casting update from Yellamma, the upcoming film directed by Venu Yeldandi. Young actress Ananthika Sanilkumar is reportedly set to play the female lead in the movie, which features music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) in the lead role. Recent reports have linked Ananthika to the project following a test shoot and casting discussions.
Directed by Venu Yeldandi, known for Balagam, Yellamma is being developed against a rural Telangana backdrop. The film has attracted attention because it marks DSP’s acting debut as a lead actor. The project is being produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations.
Ananthika Sanilkumar has gained recognition through films including MAD and 8 Vasantalu. Reports say the makers conducted a test shoot with her and were impressed by her look and screen presence. However, some reports have noted that the casting was still awaiting official confirmation, so the final announcement from the filmmakers remains important.
The combination of DSP, Venu Yeldandi and Ananthika has generated considerable curiosity among Telugu cinema audiences. With the film reportedly carrying a rural and emotional storyline, further updates on the cast, shooting schedule and release plans are expected.
DSP, widely known for his work as one of Telugu cinema’s popular music composers, is taking on a different challenge with Yellamma. His appearance as the lead actor has already become one of the major talking points surrounding the movie. The film therefore marks an important new phase in his career beyond music.
The combination of Venu Yeldandi’s direction, DSP’s lead role and Ananthika Sanilkumar’s reported casting has created considerable curiosity ahead of the film’s further announcements. Details regarding the complete cast, shooting schedule, storyline and release date are expected to generate more buzz as production progresses.
For Ananthika, Yellamma could also become another opportunity to expand her presence in Telugu cinema and take on a role in a film with a strong regional setting. Meanwhile, audiences are waiting for the makers to officially reveal more details about the characters and the story.
